Streszczenie: Gabinet dentystyczny jest miejscem, w którym wykonywane są zabiegi inwazyjne. W czasie leczenia stomatologicznego istnieje wysokie ryzyko zakażenia zarówno pacjentów, jak i personelu. Podstawowymi drogami ich przenoszenia są drogi: krwiopochodna, kontaktu bezpośredniego i powietrzna. W gabinecie stomatologicznym ryzyko zakażenia jest takie samo jak w sali operacyjnej. Można je zredukować dzięki przestrzeganiu podstawowych zasad higieny. Pacjenci dentystyczni są coraz bardziej świadomi zagrożeń. Ponieważ najczęściej sami płacą za wykonywane zabiegi, oczekują od personelu gabinetów dentystycznych zapewnienia wysokiej jakości usług oraz bezpieczeństwa.

Abstract: Dentist room is a treatment room where invasive procedures are performed. During the treatment there is high risk of infection for patients and the staff. The basic routes of transferring infections are hematogenous route, direct contact and air. The risk of infection is the same as in the operating room. Following the basic rules of hygiene can reduce the risk of infection. Patients are more and more aware of the risks, thus they expect high quality of treatment. Patients often pay on their own for the rendered services. The more they expect higher quality and safety from dental staff.
